The show console

The console is the same show, laid out for a laptop: one screen with the numbers, every piece and artist in a table, bulk actions, and spreadsheets you can download. Nothing in it is unique to the console; it is the phone's tools at desk size.

Open it

Open the show in a browser window wide enough to show the navigation rail (a laptop or a tablet in landscape) and tap the Show console icon in the top bar. The address is curiate.com/app/collections/<show id>/console, so you can bookmark it, and each tab has its own address: add ?tab=sales to land on the ledger, or pieces or artists. Curators and co-curators can open it; jurors and staff cannot. Curations have no console.

Overview

The header repeats the show's commission, whether it is exclusive or blind, and offers Start show now for an upcoming show. Below it, tiles count:

  • Pieces: awaiting review, in show, sold, not for sale, rejected.
  • Artists: accepted, invited with no answer, declined, plus staff, jurors and co-curators.
  • Sales (curator only): number of sales, gross, your commission, owed to artists, paid to artists, refunded or disputed.

Shortcuts open the review queue and the wall-label PDF.

Pieces

Every piece with its thumbnail, catalog number, title, artist, status, show price and the date it was added. Filter chips narrow by status; the text box filters by title, artist or catalog number.

Tick pieces to use the bulk bar: Approve, Reject, Mark not for sale, Mark available. Each piece is handled with exactly the rules a single tap would apply, so an approval that would break exclusivity fails for that piece and the rest go through. The result lists what happened per piece. Open piece jumps to the post.

Artists

Everyone invited, with role, invitation status, rate, note, and counts of submitted, in show and sold pieces, plus what you owe each. Invite, Roles & commission and Remove do what they do on the show page.

People you invited by email who have not signed up yet are listed too, marked Invited by email, with Resend invitation and Remove.

Import a contacts spreadsheet

If you already keep your artists in a spreadsheet, you do not have to invite them one by one. Export it as CSV and tap Import CSV on the Artists tab.

  1. Pick the file. Curiate reads the columns by their headings: an email column is required; name (or first and last), username and notes are used when present. A file with no headings works if the email is in the first column. Up to 500 rows.
  2. A preview shows every row and what will happen to it. Nothing has been sent yet.
    • Invite in app: this address or username belongs to a Curiate account. They get the normal invitation in their inbox.
    • Email invitation: no account yet. They get an email with a signup link, and the invitation is waiting for them as soon as they sign up with that address.
    • Already in show, Already emailed, Skipped (your own address, or a duplicate line) and Not an email do nothing.
  3. Tap Import. The count in the button is how many invitations go out.

Importing the same file again is safe: everyone already invited is skipped. Email invitations are sent from noreply@curiate.com; if one bounces or gets lost, use Resend invitation on the Artists tab. The invitation link only helps someone sign up with the address it was sent to. It cannot be used to join under another email.

The Artists CSV export includes email-invited people with the status emailed, so your list stays complete.

Sales

Curator only. The ledger with totals, a Mark paid per row, and Square's side of each payment: card, Square's fee, and a details panel with the receipt, a link into your Square dashboard, and a refresh. See Sales and payouts.

CSV exports

Three spreadsheets, downloaded in the browser (on a phone they go to the share sheet). Money is in dollars, times are UTC, and the files open directly in Excel, Numbers or Google Sheets.

Pieces CSV: catalog number, title, artist, medium, year, dimensions, status, show price, direct price, whether it is in the jury selection, average jury score and number of scores, date added, the caption, and a link that opens the piece in the show.

Artists CSV: username, email, role, invitation status, the three role flags, commission rate, note, pieces submitted, in show and sold, amount owed, invited and accepted dates, and a profile link. Email addresses appear only for artists who have accepted.

Sales CSV (curator only): time, sale id, catalog number, title, artist, buyer username, buyer name and email as captured at checkout, who initiated the sale (a walk-in sale names the staff member), amount, platform fee, curator fee, artist net, status, when the artist was marked paid, the payment provider and its payment id, then Square's side: card, entry method, Square's fee, receipt number and link, refunded amount, and Square's status.

Keep your own copies. Export at least at the end of the show. The files are the record of who owes what and who bought what, and they are yours to keep in whatever tool you already use.

What the console does not do yet

There is no batch thermal-label printing, and no private notes or tags on artists. Those are on the list.
